Activities
For active visitors, low tide brings with it miles of safe shallows for cockling and walking (well behaved dogs are welcome at The Wild Duck). High tide brings more adventurous activities such as sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing and so much more… The beach at Heacham

Out and About
There is plenty to see in and around Heacham. Firstly there is the scenic walk along the sea front promenade to Hunstanton, then there are the stunning restaurants (see links page), not forgetting the wonderful fresh sea food available on your door step, especially in Brancaster Staithe.

Burnham Market and Holkham Estate has plenty of shopping and lots of very nice restaurants. The beach at Holkham is fantastic, a place where the tide seems to go out for miles, exposing sands as far as the eye can see, creating beautiful long walks absolutely perfect for dogs and where you are bound to see horses cantering across the sands (horse riding is available nearby).

Wells is also a pretty fishing village and well worth a visit, there is horse racing at Fakenham, a wildlife park at Snettisham, plenty of golf courses and the famous Norfolk Lavender just up the road. You can also see the seals in the wash or do a bit of bird spotting right on your doorstep.

Plus, being just around the corner from the Queen’s Sandringham Estate you may even glimpse royalty.
